Bush Issues More Pardons

One of the last acts of a lame-duck president is issuing pardons or commuting prison sentences.

President Bush just announced 14 more such pardons. To date, Bush has issued 171 pardons and commuted eight prison sentences. According to the Associated Press, that's less than half of those issued by Presidents Clinton and Reagan.

For those who've forgotten their civics lessons, presidential pardons cannot be overturned, according to the Constitution.
