Obama And Clinton: Together As One
Obama And Clinton: Together As One
The Politico has an interesting piece focusing on the "evolution" of the Obama-Clinton relationship.
It's one that's gone full-circle - probably a couple of times - and now ends with Obama as president-elect and Clinton as his Secretary of State.
There was mutual admiration when they were both new to the Senate, which changed as Obama began plans to run for the presidency. Many, including Clinton, felt Obama hadn't earned his stripes. That relationship got even cooler during the primary, but look at them now.
And it seems the two remained respectful of each other - it was the two campaign staffs that were at each others throats.
Quote: “One of the things that people often make a mistake in doing is assuming that there’s some sort of personal animosity there, when in fact they were engaged in a very intense competition for the nomination,” said Phil Singer, who was a spokesman for Clinton’s campaign. “They both have a very healthy level of respect for one another.”
