  It's the new McCain-Palin plane - say that fast three times.

  Forget the economy, war or oil prices, it seems the real issue is Sarah Palin's hair.   Hair stylists were quick to offer help - and criticism.

  So there are rumors, and then there are those doozy type rumors that have some tiny shred of truth but end up blowing up and lord knows what comes out.   Such is the case with the "pregnancy" rumor circulating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who's now the GOP nominee for vice president.

  It somehow "mysteriously" appeared at a GOP fundraising booth during a state fair.  

  Baskin Robbins has released its latest ice cream - the "Straight Talk Crunch."

  Or so says Jim Messina, chief of staff for Barack Obama.

  That's a photo of the "official" protest area during the Democratic National Convention.   Seems protestors don't like the "freedom cage," as it's called. The fenced in area measures 47,000 square feet. 

  In keeping with its "green" theme, there's no parking at Invesco Field, where Barack Obama will give his acceptance speech. Ride the shuttle bus.   Also, no beer, no frisbees, no inflated balls. But you can ride a bike and lock it up there.

  Seems "reporters" from The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" are having trouble, well, reporting.   They're being mobbed by fans and can't get any work done. Shucks.

  I don't know, I always thought of big-time country singer Toby Keith as more of a conservative Republican type.   The singer of the post-9/11 song, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue," said, however, he's a Democrat and likes Barack Obama.
